Although largely a hunting area, the Selous is one of the largest protected areas in the world. There are a number of wildlife mammals found within this national reserve among which are: buffalos, Lions, wildebeests, giraffes, zebras, hippos, impalas, Lichtenstein’s hartebeests, waterbucks, elands and bushbucks, also leopards, crocodiles and hyenas.
