15 Days Off The Beaten Safari

Overview
This Off the beaten adventure safari will combine cultural tours, short walking around Masai
Land of Northern Tanzania, Visiting Lake Natron which is One of the Breeding sites of Lesser
Flamingos in East Africa, Game drive along Mara River in the Northern Serengeti seeing the
residents Crocodiles and if lucky enough some residents Black Rhinos, Visiting Lake Victoria
which is the second fresh water lake in the World and off course we will be in search of the
thundering herds of the legendary Serengeti wildebeest migration. This great migration safari
highlights one of the top wildlife areas in Tanzania! The Great Wildebeest Migration – the yearly
migration of enormous herds of grazers across Northern Tanzania and Kenya is a truly
remarkable event. Over two million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move through the Serengeti
and Masai Mara bio networks in search of green pasture, in a regular pattern. This is surely one
of the greatest wonders of the natural world.  The value we bring to the program is that you are
guided by a member of a superb team of knowledgeable and fun-filled naturalist guides who
knows the area best, the best time for wildebeest migration and has been in the guiding industry
for 10+ years.

Day 01 – ARRIVAL JRO – MOYONI AIRPORT LODGE
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport you’ll be welcomed by your guide, after a short
brief about your safari you’ll be transferred to Moyoni Airport Lodge for Overnight (BB) OR
Proceed to Enduimet Wildlife Management Area if you’ll arrived with an early afternoon flight

Day 02 & 03 – MOYONI AIRPORT LODGE – ENDUIMET WMA
Easy breakfast at the lodge then head out to Enduimet Wildlife management Area which lies in Olmolog
and Tinga Tinga wards in the West Kilimanjaro Basin of Longido District. It is bordered with Kilimanjaro
National Park on the South-East, while on the North boarders the Tanzania-Kenya political boundary. On
the west side, the WMA borders with Ngasurai Open Area. Enduimet is close to west Kilimanjaro it is
about 20km from the WMA center. The Area hosts variety of wild species which includes Elephant,
Buffalo, Giraffe, Leopard, Oryx, Lesser Kudu, Eland, Gerenuk, Klipspringer, Hartebeest, Bushbuck,
Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Hyena, Thomson Gazelle and Grants Gazelle and other small animals.
Ecologically, it acts as connectivity between the Mkomazi National Park, Arusha N. Park, Kilimanjaro
National Park and Tsavo Park ecosystem.

Day 04. – ENDUIMET – LONGIDO GAME CONTROLLED AREA – LAKE NATRON
After breakfast we leave with packed lunch and drive across the Longido Game Controlled Area to the
foot of Great Rift Valley searching for Gerenuk antelope, Giraffe and many others, arrive at Ngare Sero
village in the afternoon and head out to the waterfalls and walking along Lake Natron in the evening
dinner and Overnight at Natron River Camp.

Day 05 – LAKE NATRON – NORTHERN SERENGETI.
After breakfast leave with packed lunch and proceed to Klein’s Gate into Serengeti National Park game
drive en-route to Northern Serengeti. Overnight at Mara River Fly Camp.

Day 06 – NORTHERN SERENGETI – NORTHERN SERENEGETI
We’ll spend this day exploring the far Northern reaches of the Serengeti along Mara River and perhaps if
you are very lucky, you’ll be able to see some of the residents Crocodiles, Black Rhinos and many other
resident animals in the area. Overnight at Mara River Fly Camp.

Day 07 – NORTHERN SERENGETI – LAKE VICTORIA.
Leave with lunch boxes and proceed to the shores of Lake Victoria – the source of River Nile. Dinner and
Overnight at Serenity Lodge on the Lake situated on the shores of this big famous Lake.

Day 08 – LAKE VICTORIA – LAKE VICTORIA.
Spend this day either relaxing at the shores of the lake enjoying the cool breeze, or simply take a walk
through the surrounding farm land, or a drive to the closest Fish market. The features of this Second-
biggest lake in the world are as amazing as the reliance of the Egyptians’ livelihood on the Nile OR you
will participate in boat/canoe safari and a walking safari. All meals and overnight at the Serenity Lodge.

Day 09 – LAKE VICTORIA – CENTRAL SERENGETI
Leave the lodge after breakfast with L/boxes and proceed to Western Serengeti via Ndabaka
Gate and spend this day exploring the far Western reaches of the Serengeti along Grumeti
River and perhaps if you are very lucky, you’ll be able to encounter some resident cats, Game
drive towards central Serengeti and explore the beauty of Seronera Valley. The valley is a
transitional zone, an area where the Serengeti plains ends and the Woodlands begin, Seronera
valley is well- known game viewing area, Lion, Buffalo, Impala, Hippo, Waterbuck and Elephant
are all found in this game-rich valley. The most sought after of the valley’s inhabitants, however,
must be the elusive Leopard. Unlike Leopards disturbed in other parks, the Seronera leopards
are quite placid and easily photographed. Dinner and Overnight at Seronera Fly Camp.

Day 10 & 11- CENTRAL SERENGETI TO NDUTU SOUTH WEST NGORONGORO.
These days we’ll be exploring Ndutu area whereby at this time of year (Dec till March) more than two
million animals – Wildebeest, Zebra, Gazelles, Eland followed by predators swing in the area. You’ll
probably have a chance to see newly born ones at this time of the year as the area has been known to
be the calving ground for the Wildebeest and Zebra, also the area is rich in birdlife two lakes Ndutu and
Masek found within this region provide the best sight for bird expects All meals and overnight at Ndutu
Fly Camp

Day 12 – NDUTU – NGORONGORO CRATER – TARANGIRE
Wake up early for breakfast, then check out and drive with packed lunch and game viewing en route to
Ngorongoro Crater for half day game drive. You’ll quick descend once on the floor you’ll understand why
this is so often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden” Is home for over 20000 large mammals that
include some of last remaining black rhinos, the highest density of lions in Africa, hundreds of hyenas
and jackals and large number of plain games. The central soda lake is often filled up with flamingoes,
enjoy your picnic lunch beside the pool which is usually frequented by hippos. Later in the afternoon
drive to Tarangire Osupuko for overnight.

DAY 13- TARANGIRE N. PARK – SIMANJIRO WILDERNESS AREA.
After breakfast, depart by road with your guide to your Tarangire National Park. Enjoy
an Exciting last day of game drive in the park, Tarangire N. Park is a haven for bird
enthusiasts with 500 bird species recorded in the park. Other wildlife found in the park
includes large herds of thousands of wildebeests, zebra and Cape buffalo that can be
seen in the dry season from June to November. Thousands of wild animals from the
surrounding areas move to the park due to the availability of water from the Tarangire
River. Common resident animals in the park include giraffe, impala, Dik-Diks, Grants
gazelle, banded mongoose, velvet monkey, and olive monkey.
Particularly large numbers of elephant herds congregate here, as do many Elands.
There are also extensive populations of impala, giraffe. Thompson gazelle, Cokes
Hartebeest, Bohor reedbuck and lesser kudu can be seen here. The localized and
fringe-eared Oryx as well. Predators in the park include African wild dog, caracal,
cheetah, lion, leopard and honey badger, later in the afternoon we’ll proceed to
Loibosieret Village for dinner and Overnight at Namayana Camp.

DAY 14 – SIMANJIRO WILDERNESS AREA – SIMANJIRO WILDERNESS AREA
This day we can either go out on an early morning walking safari in this community
wilderness area accompanied by a local Maasai Guide from the camp with armed
ranger as well, Walking Safari is a unique experience that allow you to connect with
nature on a deeper level. Walking in the bush provides a great complement to the
amazingly close encounters one has on traditional vehicle game viewing drives;
Breakfast will be served in the bush thereafter on this day you have the opportunity to
visit a Maasai boma and get a glimpse into everyday life for these rural pastoralists. It is

important to mention here that these interactions are structured, not staged! The boma’s
are not cultural boma’s and may only get one or two visits from guests per year.
We’ll also stop by women sewing center in Loibosieret village run by local women,
honey beekeeping project and see all products they produce out of this project such as
Honey packaging, Lip Bums and Candles.
Hot lunch will be served back at the Camp, afternoon is spent at the Camp until late
afternoon when we go out for evening game drive, sundowner will be followed with a
night game drive before we head back to the camp for late dinner and overnight at
Namayana Camp

DAY 15 – SIMANJIRO WILDERNESS AREA – ARUSHA – JRO
Leave after Lunch from the Camp OR drive back to Arusha for Day room use and Lunch, later in the
evening proceed to JRO for your flight back home.
